Effect of Core Yarn on Linear Actuation of Electroactive Polymer Coated Yarn Actuators

Smart textiles combine the features of conventional with promising properties smart materials such as electromechanically active polymers, resulting in textile actuators. Textile actuators comprise individual yarn actuators, so understanding their electro-chemo-mechanical behavior is great importance. Herein, this study investigates effect inherent structural and mechanical commercial yarns, that form core on linear actuation conducting-polymer-based Commercial yarns were coated poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) to make them conductive. Then polypyrrole (PPy) provides electromechanical electropolymerized surface under controlled conditions. The investigated aqueous electrolyte isotonic isometric generated an strain up 0.99% force 95 mN. achieved work more than tenfold threefold greater previously reported shows increase nearly 11-fold over our previous results. Finally, a qualitative model introduced describe created by candidates for wearable actuator technologies.
